Biography

Linda Duan is from Las Vegas, Nevada, and recently moved to Salt Lake City, where she is the Conservatory Director at Gifted Music School. She was the first receipient of a double performance degree in violin and piano from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Piotr Milewski and Robert Ruckman. She also holds a Master of Music degree and an Artist Diploma in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, as a student of William Preucil.

Linda served as section violin and concertmaster with The Orchestra Now in New York from 2018-2022, where she also received a Master of Music in Curatorial, Critical, and Performance Studies. She has performed with many orchestral ensembles including The Cleveland Orchestra, the Canton Symphony Orchestra, the Akron Symphony Orchestra, and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra. She was concertmaster of the Cleveland Women's Orchestra during their 2016-2017 season, and has also held principal positions in the orchestras of the Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She was a musician with Lincoln Center Stage, a partnership of Lincoln Center and Holland America Line, and toured through 35 countries in 2018 as part of a piano quintet. Linda has been an artistic fellow at the San Antonio Classical Music Institute, the Campos do Jordão Winter Music Festival in Brazil, the Marrowstone Music Festival in Bellingham, WA, and the Miami Music Festival. She currently maintains an active teaching studio and is a substitute violin with the Utah Symphony and Ballet West Orchestra.
