Notice: update 10/2018 — In an effort to make this event as encouraging and positive as possible, through a special gift, everyone performing will be acknowledged with a medal and certificate for preparing their programs.  If the jury feels appropriate, one or more “Special Paderewski Honor” will be given to performances that showed particularly high levels of preparation.  The primary intention of this festival is to provide a performance experience and goal for students.  To qualify for this honor, pianists need to perform at least two works as indicated in the requirements.  At the jury’s discretion, certain Honor recipients may be asked to perform on the Nov. 2 celebration concert.  All students who participated will be recognized with a certificate and medal at the celebration concert.

Chamber competition:  Open to chamber groups, ages 20 and under.

Director: Dr. LeeAnn Morgan, Chamber Department Chair
Rules: Any classical repertoire chamber group (duos, trios, quartets, quintet, sextet, octet); woodwinds included.
Age requirement: 8-18 years old; up to age 20 for woodwinds.  All ages are in one category.
Repertoire requirements: TBA
Recognitions:  All students and groups will be recognized with a certificate and medal at the celebration concert.   The jury, at their discretion, may designate a “Special Paderewski Honor” to performance(s) that demonstrated a particularly high level of preparation.    One or more honor recipients may be asked to perform on the Nov. 2 celebration.

All decisions of the jury will be final. Good sportsmanship is required.  We want everyone to support each other and have a festive time!
