It is with deep sadness and regret that I announce to the Gifted Music School community the passing of our close friend and esteemed colleague, Gaye Platt.

A longtime champion of the school and resident Suzuki Collaborative Pianist, Gaye was a truly consummate professional who had a talent for empowering students and instructors alike through her extraordinarily sensitive and nuanced playing. But more than this, Gaye established herself as a truly beloved figure in our school. I am confident that the impacts of her uncommonly kind, positive, and generous spirit will continue to ripple throughout our community for years to come.

Please find the school's official tribute, written by our Conservatory Director, Meili Bell, by clicking here. Gaye's full obituary can be found online at https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/saltlaketribune/obituary.aspx?n=gaye-platt&pid=196987491&fhid=4550.

I speak for the entire Gifted Music School community, including many current and former colleagues and alumni/ae, when I extend to Gaye's family our heartfelt condolences.
