Fall Concert with Laurie Smukler

Gifted Music School Fall Concert

The Gifted Music School welcomes Laurie Smukler (bio) of The Juilliard School to perform at the Fall Concert on Saturday, November 18th. The concert will be the culmination of Ms. Smukler’s final preparation of the Gifted Music School’s Conservatory Orchestra and master classes with Conservatory violinists.

Although her first time in Salt Lake with the Gifted Music School, Ms. Smukler is well familiar with the dedicated and talented students that have had the opportunity to study at GMS. A recent GMS graduate Erika Hubbard is a student of Ms. Smukler’s at Juilliard and has impressed upon Ms. Smukler the advances in music education GMS is pioneering in Salt Lake. Ms. Smukler will contribute the experience of her expansive performance and teaching career to students at GMS. Students McCall Andersen, Makenzie Hart and Ezekiel Sokoloff will solo in this concert exemplifying the exceptional instruction and rigorous work of each Conservatory student at GMS.

Ms. Smukler will perform both Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 and Bach’s Double Violin Concerto with the Gifted Music School Orchestra. The audience will be further delighted by a performance of Twinkle Variations by up and coming violinists at GMS.

Come and experience Bach’s arguably most popular masterpiece with The Gifted Music School’s performance and Ms. Laurie Smukler at 7PM at the Waterford School on Saturday, November 18th. Tickets for this wonderful concert are $10.
